Welcome to Orbit Eye Center
Eye diseases and their treatment have significant implications for global health and well-being. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), it is estimated that approximately 253 million people worldwide are visually impaired, with 36 million of them suffering from blindness. Cataracts, a clouding of the eye's lens, account for nearly half of all cases of blindness globally. Other prevalent eye conditions include glaucoma, affecting around 80 million people, and age-related macular degeneration (AMD), which affects 196 million people worldwide. However, advancements in medical science have led to effective treatments for many eye diseases. Cataract surgery is one of the most commonly performed surgeries globally, restoring vision for millions of individuals each year. Treatments for glaucoma include eye drops, laser therapy, and surgery to reduce intraocular pressure. AMD can be managed through anti-VEGF injections or laser therapy. Early diagnosis, regular eye examinations, and accessible treatment options are crucial in mitigating the impact of eye diseases and ensuring better vision outcomes for individuals worldwide.
